How many hours will firewood burn (in a labeled wood fuel stove) in a DS Stove (Free Standing, Insert, Furnaces, Boilers)?
8 to 12 hours. Using Red Oak firewood that has been cut, split and stacked in a open area for 2 years in the sun and wind, with moisture reading of 0% to 9%, and cut to the length of the firebox, and burning the stove at 500 degrees. Using softer woods will not get the longer burns or higher BTU's. (Please view our wood BTU's chart.)
What is the exhaust temperatures on the stove pipe of DS Stoves, Insert, Furnaces, Boilers)?
Most of DS Stoves have only 150 degrees going out the stove pipe, burning the stove at 500 degrees. (Models like the ComfortMax 75, EnergyMax 110, 160 and other models.) Some of DS Stove models may have a little higher exhaust temperatures about 250 degrees.
