"It is nice to know there are still people out there that have your conservative values / morals and integrity"

Mr Messick, First I would like to say thank you for our candid/informative conversation. It is nice to know there are still people out there that have your conservative values / morals and integrity. At times in life I have lost faith, Talking to you reassures me that there are a lot of people that hold our beliefs still. My grandparents would be appalled if they were alive and seen the moral degradation of today's society. Shame in particular has fallen to the wayside. Finally mastered the "starting a coal fire", great analogy by the way, spot on though. Think sometime making a video on making a coal fire would be awesome. A lot of rookies out there who have been using wood like myself. If I am in your neck of the woods, would like to shake your hand for a great product and a company that still has good old fashioned values. No "fuzzies " though, don't have much hair left. Respectfully.

"making me love my wood burner again"

Hello Bill I talk to you last year about having problems with my wood burner and you helped me out so much with running the right heat that is such a wonderful sight when the re-Burn kicks in. I just can't thank you enough for helping me a complete stranger and making me love my wood burner again. It's nice to know there's good people like you out there still. Hope you had a Merry Christmas and a wonderful new year. Thanks so much.

"I just can't thank you enough for helping me"

I had a bad problem with my wood stove, it's a comfort max 75. It was puffing smoke out the high-low slider and all the advice I got didn't work. I finally had enough when I woke up to my house filled with smoke. It was scary and I was out of people to talk to, even after seeking advice from the place that sold it to me and they were no help. I looked online and found Messick Stoves and I called, that was the best thing I could of done. I talked to Bill, he was one of the most intelligent people I have ever talked to about wood stoves. He knows DS stoves inside and out. We ended up narrowing it down to I'm not burning it hot enough to create a good draft due to the warmer weather and choking it down. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to buy or needing help. It is nice to know that some one would take an hour and a half out of his time to help me and make me more knowledgeable about the stove I own. Thanks again Bill for all your help I truly appreciate it! If for any reason I need to invest in another wood stove I will defiantly be purchasing one from Messick Stoves.

"talked to Bill personally and I think I have the stove working like it should"

Purchased a Messick Stove 110 from another dealer and wasn't told very much about how to operate the stove. I was told he would send me an instruction book, that was going on 3 years ago and still haven't received the book. I watched the video that Bill has on You Tube and I learned more than the dealer told me. Then I called and talked to Bill personally and I think I have the stove working like it should. If I had it to do over I would have bought the stove from Bill in the first place.

"I want to take a few minutes to thank Bill for exceptional customer service (to a non customer)"

I want to take a few minutes to thank Bill for exceptional customer service (to a non customer). I purchased a DS 160 through a different distributor who burns exclusively coal in his stoves. His expertise was not in the wood burning area, and he openly admitted that. I still had quite a few questions about burning wood and Bill answered each one. I learned a lot in our conversation, and am extremely impressed with his desire to help a stranger out over the phone. I would strongly recommend the use of this company. Thanks.

"Thanks so much for taking the time to answer questions"

Thanks so much for taking the time to answer questions. I have watched most of your YouTube videos, especially on the Comfort Max 75, the 110 and the 160. The are very helpful. We have a YouTube channel as well that is growing fairly quickly. www.youtube.com/c/livingtraditionshomestead We have a Comfort Max 75 and the dealer that installed it didn't give us much instruction on it's use. I fear I am not using it to it's fullest potential. The owner's manual is not very much help either, unfortunately. Where is the best place to read the temperature of this stove? The owner's manual says not to let it get above 600 on top of the stove? Is that near the stove pipe? On the lower portion of the top? I see on the 110 you say to measure it next to the door. All 3 of these areas give me significantly different readings. As far as cleaning, the dealer that installed it never mentioned having to take out the fire bricks and clean behind them, but I watched your videos on the 160 and see you doing that. Should I be doing that on the 75 as well? I clean the chimney every year but that is all I have been doing. This is our second winter with the stove. For overnight burns should I be turning the regulator all the way down? When I do, there is no gap on the back flap? Is this normal or does the chain need to be adjusted? Sorry for asking so many questions but it seems hard to find good information about this stove and I an not very happy with the dealer that installed it for us. I will definitely give you some credit in an upcoming video of ours for answering our questions! Thanks so much! Kevin

"He was more then happy to answer my questions and even gave me some additional advice"

I called Bill at Messick Stoves with a question about a DS stove I purchased from someone else because I live in Western NY. He was more then happy to answer my questions and even gave me some additional advice since I am new to burning coal. Bill was not afraid to share his knowledge with me. If I were going to buy a stove or even coal I would definitely check in with Bill at Messick Stove first.

"I really appreciate all the time you spent answering my questions and helping me get started"

This is second winter with my stove, and love it! I really appreciate all the time you spent answering my questions and helping me get started. I spooned ashes back into stove this year before lighting it, and it really helped start off better. One trick I learned to keep ashes from falling straight through the grate was I placed a layer of newspaper over grate before adding ashes. This easily disintegrated by the time I wanted ashes to fall through. Might be worthwhile tip to pass on to others. Thanks, again.

"Bill. He was extremely helpful in answering every question I had was detailed information that was very helpful"

Hey Bill, thanks again for all your help. When I purchased the DS Kozy King 300 it was 3 years old ,but it looked brand new. I had lots of questions regarding chimney size, hooking to my existing forced air duct work and my cold air return, all of which my local dealers were of little to no help with. I continued searching the internet and Messick Stove kept popping up with every Google search I did,so I called them and spoke with a salesman named Bill. He was extremely helpful in answering every question I had was detailed information that was very helpful, when most salesman find out you already have purchased a product elsewhere they don't want to help you out, not Bill, here was beyond helpful and told me to call back with any questions as I install my DS Stove. At Messick Stove they really do care about helping the consumer, not just making a sale. Keep up the good work you guys are awesome!!!

"Bill, Just wanted to let you know I received the stove and have had it operating since Friday evening"

Bill, Just wanted to let you know I received the stove and have had it operating since Friday evening. I am impressed by how well made it is and like the way it looks. It’s been doing a nice job of giving off heat and it is far easier to maintain than the pellet stove I was using. Thank you for your time and have a Happy Thanksgiving!
