Question #1

How many hours will coal burn in a DS Stove (Free Standing, Insert, Furnaces, Boilers)?

8 to 12 hours and even longer using Anthracite Coal. The process is that you use the shaker handle on the stove every 8 to 12 hours, in order to drop the burnt coal and ashes into the ash pan, letting the hot coals to be exposed to the air, that comes in contact with the coal from the bottom, and underneath through the cast iron grates. Then adding a new layer of new coal in small amounts per layer, until that layer of coal starts to burn. Then repeat until the stove is filled.
